72 Volt Roadster 3.0

Okay, so I have the Roadster 2.0, and I've had it for just over a year. But what a year it has been! With the rack and pannier bags, it's very practical for running errands.

But for excursions, it's a blast! It really does speed along at a good and maintained pace while tackling hills effortlessly. I've also gotten a lot of looks and compliments already! Once, when returning a library book, I got 2 comments less than 5 minutes apart! Sometimes I'm asked, "How fast can it go?" And I like to say, "If another ebike passes me, it's only because I'm letting it!"

As I'm composing this review, I'm currently planning on riding across the Golden Gate Bridge and into the Marin Headlands.

A few things that I've noticed, though. First, my bike has the original seat, and since there's no suspension on the back, you will have to stop for a break and stand up every once in awhile to get the blood flowing. Also, when it's dark enough, the headlight and taillight will kick on automatically. Me, I'd prefer all functions to be done by me. Be careful in small spaces, since the forks limit the turning radius somewhat. Lastly, the less of a charge in the battery, the more trouble it has with hills, but that's to be expected.

But overall, I couldn't be happier with it! I put just under 900 miles on the odometer in the first year, and I plan to keep this bike for the foreseeable future. Oh, and I named it "Argo." If you know some Greek mythology, you'll get the reference.

I'm a longer term customer, on my second Vintage bike, and honestly cannot imagine being without it. I don't own a car, and so use this bike as my everyday commuter, over 20 miles a day. The bike has the right power to feel comfortable weaving in and out of traffic, has the right look that allows good visibility on the road, and of course style. I own a 2023 Roadster and she is amazing. Great bike by great people.

I have the 72V Roadster. It is fun and effortless to ride. Get the Race Mode option because you don’t want to be limited on what this bike can do. You practically never have to peddle it, and the acceleration, control, and range of this system is impressive. It’s such a beautiful looking bike (so much more than any other out there) that I’m a bit afraid to park it for too long in public, so get a good bike lock for peace of mind. Customer service is top notch and as impressive as the bike.

I’ve taken delivery of my new Vintage 72V roadster but I haven’t taken a ride yet. That happens in a couple days. But it’s the most beautiful bike I’ve ever seen and I owned a Van Moof S3,(a work of Modern Art)!

I purchased a 72 volt roadster about a month ago. This is my first electric bike purchase. I have never been more pleased with a bike in my life! I never expected how comfortable and powerful this bike was going to be. I have always messed with Whizzers and other gas powered bicycles, but this bike is incredible! The quality of the bike is amazing. The staff at vintage is amazing. I plan on purchasing another one for my wife, she absolutely loves mine. If you plan on purchasing a e- bike , look at vintage bikes and compare, and remember you get what you pay for. Mr. Davidge , my friend, you got this one RIGHT!

I recently took delivery of my Vintage Electric Roadster. The anticipation was met with exceeded expectations of the bike. The workmanship and pride that went into the design and assembly of the bike was evident from tip to tail. Every component appears to be of.premium quality. The first ride went as they say “ just like riding a bike” except faster, easier and much much cooler. The bike turns heads and not just because I was bundled up riding it in 40° weather. The ride itself is truly a stunner. You definitely get what you pay for. Eddie and the TEAM @ Vintage earned my trust and answered and continue to answer all my questions and concerns. These are bike guys with class, style and performance in their DNA. Vintage is clearly the leader in the US high-end e-bike game.

Unbelievably Fantastic Bike both in looks and performance ! I purchased two Vintage Roadster Bikes for my son and myself and could not be happier. Eddie the Head of Sales was Friendly, Professional, Responsive and answered all of my questions. These are not only the Best looking Electric Bikes I have ever seen but the Build Quality is Amazing! I’m a Classic Car collector and very particular in what I purchase especially if I’m buying a “Retro Mod”. Like the Cars I wanted something that looked Retro but had up to date modern technical features.This Vintage Retro bike definitely exceeded my expectations. As I mentioned the quality of the build impressed me immediately as I purchased the bikes sight unseen. After riding the bike I noticed how smooth and comfortable the ride was. However, If you purchase the race mode (like I did) hang on as it is a performance bike if you want it to be. I could not be more satisfied with the purchase. All my friends that see it want one. Additionally when I park it anywhere, it always draws a crowd. The old adage “ you get what you pay for” is true here with one exception. You actually get more than you pay for!

Solid, quality and great fun! Mid 50's male with a sedentary lifestyle that needed to shed a few pounds. Looked around for an 'e-bike' and while there are many on the market cheaper perhaps even better, I have to say the VE Roadster ticked all my boxes. (You know when you have a good product when your engineer friends comment on the welding and attention to build detail !). I use it to go from home to my parents, down to the shops and getting around locally, though to be honest I am a fair weather biker, so when the rain is away, I will take it out to play. I have had my VE Roadster for about 5 months and just love it, does what I want it to do and is both great fun and easy to ride. With a back condition, it was key to get a comfortable bike which my Roadster delivers. No matter where I go, plenty of questions and positive comments.

If you like something different I would recommend the Roadster as it delivers the ability to; look good, be different, is solidly made and has quite the range. Options got at the same time were; the rear rack for the side panniers, bell, bike lock and 'race mode'. The only niggle I would have is VEB could do with having a paper user manual for new owners. The support when I was initially looking from the VEB team was polite, professional and their team answered all my questions promptly. They then put me in contact with their UK Partner, who took up the process and delivered my bike on time.

A great bike and thank you

My car recently went kaput. The mechanic told me the car needs a new engine. I was mad for about a half a second. Then I remembered that I live in the city AND I work in the city. So I didn't worry at all. I just went home and reviewed routes I could take on my Vintage Roadster.

Prior to my car breaking down on me, I would ride my bike on the weekends to explore the city. Taking my bike through the trails to the museums and monuments was a good time.

Once my car died, everything changed. In a good way. I work the overnight shift. It's about 4am when I leave the job. I found the streets soooo empty when I looked around for traffic. I couldn't help but to take off. It's a blast! This bike glides over pavement like a dream. The suspension forks let me take on bumps like "no problem". I found myself getting air bourn jumping speed bumps. I covered 14 miles in less than 30 minutes. I know now getting around the city is not a problem.

I don't know what I'm going to do when my car is returned to me. But for now, I'm enjoying adjusting to bike life as I better learn my way around the city while running all my errands. I feel closer to the world on my bike. Thank you Vintage Electric!

It brings a smile Tony face every time I saddle up for a run. I take it to custom car shows and it draws a lot of questions and this remark... “doesn’t offer much exercise” and my reply is, I run 6 miles twice a week. On a stretch of road I had a guy in a Vett come up alongside to let me know he liked how fast my Roadster was and how it looked. Many compliments on the retro look. I live on the hilly north shore of Long Island and and get around no problem. I ride about 30+- miles and enjoy every minute of it. BTW, excellent customer service, exceptional team! Hey Vintage, can you make a trike? Two rear hubs with one controller operation? Just dreaming. Thanks for everything team Vintage Electric. 👍🏻😎

A great company coupled with excellent customer service via Eddie who answered questions, gave advice and kept me well informed. My first ride home from the local bike store was a memorable experience. With clear and calm conditions my cold evening ride with with the sun setting behind the Olympic Mountains was perfect . I cannot wait to get out more and enjoy this elegant machine!

This bike's so fun to ride, I live somewhere with a lot of bumpy roads and this is PERFECT, You 100% should buy this because it would change your life.

I can't tell you enough about how my lovely Roadster has really transformed my life! Not only does it look fabulous but it is a pure joy to ride.

I used to be a keen cyclist in my younger days. I had not ridden my bicycle for over 30 years. The very steep hills put me off. I was concerned about how the Roadster battery would cope in such challenging conditions. As soon as my Roadster arrived we were off around this picturesque county. Discovering, daily, hidden country properties and hamlets that I had never seen - despite having lived here for 37 years!

I gradually increased the length of trips to 30 miles with 20% battery life being left on returning home. I fitted an inverter to my campervan to charge the bike whilst on the move.

Our next a trip was to County Durham in the North East of England. It is covered in stunning bicycle trails mainly along disused railway lines. A 50 mile ride to The Stadium of Light - home of SAFC - was just one of many great rides. The battery was half full on return to base. This was with me peddling quite a lot in very flat terrain!

Our local town is a 12 mile round trip for shopping - so the bike, with panniers, has replaced the car for shopping trips etc. The bike is very eye catching and attracts much attention. It is so easy to ride and SO much fun. The whole family loves it and it will be a real treasure to pass on through the family in the years to come.

Purchased my Roadster about three months ago. No exaggeration - this is the most fun I have ever had on two wheels! Honestly makes me feel like a kid again. I have a garage full of bikes which I love. Lots of mountain biking and road riding still in my future. But the Roadster is for a whole new experience. It has become my go-to vehicle for any "short-haul" commute. A trip to the store. Coffee with friends. A midday business meeting. The combination of speed and ease-of-use makes the trips a no-brainer. And the smoothness of the ride is unparalleled. The only problem: everywhere I go, someone wants to talk about the bike!

A few days into my Roadster and this is the most fun I've had on two wheels in a long time! I preferred the look of the Roadster, but I got it with the Scrambler's knobby tires so I could take it on the local fire roads. It's been fun both around town and off-road. The knobby ties are just fine on pavement although I've sure the street tires are smoother. Off-road has been a kick on fire-roads or elementary single track. No surprise that it's weight and lack of rear suspension make it unsuited for anything too crazy, but at the same time being able to hit the throttle to get over a tough spot on the trail is very cool and overall off-road performance is better than I thought it would be.

Overall fit and finish is outstanding.

Two things on the wishlist - 1) locking rear hub for security. The bike is still light enough that it would not be a complete deterrent, but I would love it if I could electronically or manually lock the rear motor/hub to prevent someone from hoping on and taking off while I ran in to a store to get something. 2) more detailed battery info on display. It shows current state, but that drops and raises realtime with riding conditions depending on draw. Would love it if you could see something like amp hours removed so you know steady state even while riding hard. That said, it's something that I'm sure I will learn instinctively over time.
