from 162 reviewsWe initially bought one Tracker only to feel lonely so we purchased another but older model. With the help of the VE Crew we brought it matching standards of our 1st purchase. VE's Customer Service is wonderful, helpful and very good at communicating-they answer the phone when calling! I know this review is several years late but Thank You VE!!
Oh btw, visit the showroom-it's a candy story for enthusiasts.
I became interested in a Vintage e-bike after stumbling upon a picture of one while searching for a sidecar for my Vespa. The bicycle was stunning and reminded me of the single speed cruisers I had in the late 60's. It didn't look like other e-bikes. It looked like a Vintage bicycle. I was hooked.
After pondering the cost of a 72V Vintage, for over a year, I decided to sell the Vespa and purchase a Vintage Scrambler. I received my Scrambler last fall. I now have a number of months of use behind me and am able to, with confidence, give you the review you asked for shortly after the purchase.
As I mentioned, my initial reaction was "This bike is an effing riot!". Nine months later, my reaction is still the same. The Scrambler is not only a work of art, it's an electromechanical beast. I've had a number of European motorcycles and sportscars over the years to satisfy my need for speed and it was my hope that the Scrambler would elicit the same guttural response. It did just that.
During my first week of ownership, I set the speed to three and riding the Scrambler was a blast. Plenty of speed and torque. I wasn't expecting a lot more out of settings four and five but boy was I wrong. This bike flies, at these settings, and will cover ground and terrain at speeds that almost feel uncomfortable. Some, like me, call that thrilling!!
Did I mention that I am 61 years old? I bought the Scrambler to tool around the 55 and over, active adult community I live in and to explore the surrounding areas. The Scrambler has performed flawlessly during these excursions and continues to thrill. The battery life is amazing and charging is quick.
I get compliments on my Vintage Scrambler all of the time, but the best happened the other day while on a rip to the gas station. A fellow came up to me and asked, "Is that an electric bike?".
To most, including myself, this would be an expensive bike. After nine months of riding, I can confidently say that it's worth every penny!!!
Beautiful Classic V E Tee Shirt.
Going to look cool wearing it when I get my new V E Roadster.
Finally got the bike upgrades completed and took my 1st real ride. I’ve ridden a bike down a mountain at over 45mph and this machine matches that wind in your face and chest feeling at full throttle on a flat road! Acceleration and handling at speed is rock solid! This is a motorcycle! Very pleased with the bike, great job Vintage! Time to put on some mileage now!
Vintage Electric = Great Company…!Get a roadster and start riding on cloud…There wasn’t any issue I experienced that wasn’t promptly taken care of…..So if I was you….drop the dough….and get on the go….
Last year I bought a refurbished SoCal, and I had a great time on the trails around New Paltz, NY. Got sidetracked in the summer, but now I am freeing up and riding more this year. I couldn't be happier with this bike. It is strong, fast, and it holds its charge very well with relatively little pedaling. It is apparently turning heads, too. I might have another Scrambler in my future, so I don't have to leave everyone in my group behind. Thanks!
After two years of looking at photos and video reviews of the Vintage Roadster I finally decided to pre-order one, sight unseen. I've never done this before and I was a bit nervous. But Eddie was amazing to deal with and when the Roadster arrived I was blown away. Vintage Bikes have really made something special here. These bikes are pieces of art and they absolutely ROCK! One of the first rides I did I went over thirty miles (with a top speed of 40.1mph) and still had three out of five bars left on the battery! It's so much fun!
And if you're in the northern Colorado area I HIGHLY recommend Al over at Spice Ebikes in Longmont to put your bike together. He's amazing and really cares about the work he does. I feel like not only did I find a great shop to work on my bike but also a new friend.
My one word of advice, other than "do whatever you can to ride one of these bikes," is, once you click that thumb drive, HOLD ON! You're in for the ride of your life! Thanks Vintage!
I've had my 48v Tracker Classic for about 2 months and...I love it! I use it to commute to work, sometimes in a suit and tie, and run little errands around town. I park it inside my office and it's a great conversation piece. Super fun and easy to ride plus it gets a lot of smiles.
The whole experience from start to finish was top notch, the guys and the shop are awesome.
I knew I made the right choice when I was riding home and pulled up next to a tween boy on a Rad. He looked over and said. "Wow, that's cool!"
Now I just need one for my wife!
No matter what kind of day I'm having, every ride puts a huge smile on my face.
The build quality has truly exceeded my expectations, especially after only seeing it online. It's fantastic!
At 77 years old, this bike is just as much fun as my first Triumph.
Thanks to both of you, it's even better than I expected. You know, older individuals typically don’t buy impulsively, but my instincts were correct this time.
I couldn’t be happier with it.
I did take a Uber to Destination Cycle today and drove my bike home. The front fender is right on, the bike is crazy cool. You did what you said would be difficult. You would not believe the reaction I got from people in vehicles passing by, people walking on the street, thumbs up, honking horns In approval , the stares and turning heads as I zip by or they drive by me.
Wow ! Did I say Wow? Golfers on the tee box stopping in their tracks and all four in unison pointing and following with their heads and eyes following the bike. It was crazy cool. I am 73 it’s my first ride on a e-bike. Very stimulating for this brain. I have it in my foyer and that will be its home. I have a 7 car garage but it deserves the best . Love it.
Thanks,

The bike is great. Lots of power for climbing our Pennsylvania hills! I was worried that the lack of suspension would be less than ideal, but it’s surprisingly smooth. I did swap out the stock seat with a Brooks saddle that is sprung, but even without it, it’s pretty good! Hitting the throttle always brings a smile to my face!
I had seen an ad in Hagerty magazine and was entranced by the first view of a Roadster. I ended up cutting out the page and left it within easy view. I did some research and the more I read and looked at the more convinced I was that I wanted one. I decided on a Scrambler 72 volt. I had to wait awhile for the build, but it was worth the wait. It came exactly the way I ordered it. My Dad was a machinist and was an artist in his work. He would have appreciated all the detail in the work on this bike, and the solidness. Stuff that he built will long outlast me. He gave me an eye for good builds and I recognize it all over this bike. I ride a regular pedal bike in the Catskill mountains of NY. Now I can ride with a much more extended range. It amounts to an adventure on each ride. That in itself is worth the price spent on this bike.
I got lucky and found one slightly used. I've had plenty of ebikes including Voltbike, Engwe, Aventon, etc but this Vintage is a whole different flavor. From the cool ascetic to the unbelievable power it's like the missing link between my bikes and motorcycles.
I just can't believe this bike is even better than I could have imagined. I did the research and saw Jay Leno driving one and I was hooked. So well built, so well designed, so much fun. You simply cannot do any better than this. These guys are for real and they deliver the goods. So happy.
